Driftline Outdoors didn’t start in a boardroom — it started on the rivers, lakes, and coastlines of British Columbia.

I’ve been fishing BC’s waters for years, and what began as a weekend obsession became a way of life. Rain or shine, every weekend is a day on the water — working a river bend for steelhead, casting off the ocean, or drifting a quiet lake at first light.

Out here we’re lucky: the water is everywhere, and it’s world-class. But finding gear that actually holds up to it — gear built with the same care that goes into a perfect cast — was harder than it should be.
